Ellen Markus, a social worker in Dallas, Texas, has a professional background in advocacy, community relations, leadership recruitment and development, and direct clinical services. She is currently working as a consultant and clinician in the development of mind-body medicine services and programs.
As an active community volunteer who has lived in several cities around the country, Ellen is Vice President of the Southwest Region of the American Jewish Congress and two-time past Chair of their Women of Spirit Program. She is Co-Chair of the Dallas Jewish Federation-sponsored area- wide celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary, and has recently served on the Boards of the National Council of Jewish Women, Dallas Section, and the Florence Melton School in Dallas.
Ellen received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her M.S.W. from the State University of New York. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Attorney James A. Markus, and is a member of Temple Emanu-El. They have two sons.
