Miriam K. Tohill, Program Associate, collaborates with program initiatives and MAZON partners in exploring and developing policy and community responses to food insecurity. Prior to joining MAZON, she developed and led advocacy communities on the Send Silence Packing tour of Active Minds, a leading U.S. nonprofit addressing mental health on college campuses. She also served as Deputy Field Director on the U.S. Congressional campaign to elect Martha Robertson, NY-23. Miriam holds a B.A. in History and Comparative Literature & Cultural Studies from Franklin University, Switzerland.

There has been much discussion in the media lately about facts, “alternative facts,” and fake news. As a Program Associate at MAZON, I work to better understand the reality of hunger in America and help MAZON educate the community about that reality.
Older Americans built our families, our communities, and our country. We must protect the 10 million seniors nationwide who face the threat of hunger.
In order to prepare for a stronger future, we must find the common ground and look forward, together.
