In 2014, Hunger Free Colorado launched Hunger Through My Lens, an “advocacy project that shed light on the reality of hunger in the Denver area.” The experts – individuals that actually experience hunger – are at the center of it all.

Not only did the project go viral, but the stories and photographs they collected proved to be an impressive method for giving a face – and voice – to those struggling with hunger, which was especially impactful for meetings with legislators.

In addition to launching this impressive project, Hunger Free Colorado focuses their advocacy work on protecting federal programs like SNAP and WIC, with a goal to ensure all Coloradans have access to nutritious food, because “everyone is at their best when they have enough healthy food to eat.”
