Josh Levin is a Senior Attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Environmental Defense Section. With the Department since 1991, he has received numerous awards for his work, including the Department’s Outstanding Performance Award and the Environment Division’s Special Commendation Award. On two occasions, Josh also received Bronze Medals from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for his work representing that agency.
Josh serves as a member of the national board of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and he is a past general counsel and Secretary, and former board member, of the Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation in Bethesda, Maryland. He is also dedicated to other charitable endeavors with organizations, such as the Jewish Federations of Washington, D.C. and Chicago; American Jewish World Service; New Israel Fund; the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College; So Other May Eat (SOME); and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Josh resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Debra Fried Levin, and their three sons: Benjamin, Ethan and Ross Elliot (a/k/a "R.E.,” or "Arye”).
