MAZON Promotes Mia Hubbard to Vice President of Programs

Los Angeles, CA (March 1, 2011) – MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, a leader in the national anti-hunger community, announced today the promotion of Mia Hubbard to Vice President of Programs. In this expanded role, Ms. Hubbard will oversee the three components of the organization’s anti-hunger efforts: advocacy, grantmaking and external initiatives.

“I am honored to accept this new role and excited to meet this new challenge,” says Hubbard. “MAZON has made a meaningful impact on hunger, but it is clear our work is far from finished. I am excited to help MAZON continue to grow so that we can build a future where no one struggles to put healthy food on the table.”

“Mia is an invaluable part of our team,” says Abby J. Leibman, President & CEO of MAZON. “She is a recognized leader in the anti-hunger movement. Her deep knowledge of the issues, her remarkable insights into the causes of hunger and her outstanding contributions to advancing a meaningful response to those causes make her the ideal person to serve in this important role for MAZON. ”

Ms. Hubbard has been with MAZON for 18 years. Most recently, she served as the organization’s Director of Grants.
