Jewish Anti-Hunger Advocates Call for Immediate Action to Deliver Food Aid in Gaza

July 29, 2025

Following widespread reports of a devastating hunger crisis in Gaza, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger released the following statement calling on all parties to take immediate steps to ensure that all those suffering from starvation are properly provided for.

MAZON President & CEO Abby J. Leibman stated:

“Absolutely no one deserves the pain and indignity of hunger — including the people of Gaza. We are well aware of the complexities of the conflict between Israel and Gaza, its history, the horrifying origins of this war that began on October 7th, and the challenges of peace. But our Jewish faith and tradition are abundantly clear that we have a moral obligation to prevent hunger. Even during war, humanitarian aid — especially food — must be a priority, and delivering this aid must be guided by principles of compassion, moral responsibility, and human dignity. We are on the brink of unthinkable tragedy, and there is no time to delay. American Jews, all of us, must demand that life-saving food be delivered immediately to all those facing dire hunger.”
