Howard is retired from the practice of employment law and labor law at Maslon LLP, a Minneapolis law firm with deep roots in the Twin Cities Jewish community. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his law degree from the Washington University School of Law in Saint Louis. Prior to his career as a lawyer, Howard was a general assignment television news reporter in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Howard and his family are members of Adath Jeshurun Congregation, where he first learned about the inspiring work of MAZON from his senior rabbi, Harold Kravitz. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Relations Council Minnesota & the Dakotas. Howard also volunteers for Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Jewish Federation, and the Hennepin County Bar Association. He became involved at MAZON as a member of the Government Affairs & Public Policy Committee.
Howard’s immediate family is his wife, Janet Tarkow, and their two daughters, Lynn and Mara.
