MAZON Hunger Shabbat

A Hunger Awareness Shabbat looks different in every community.

Some congregations hold an annual Shabbat service or educational program to raise awareness about hunger in America and others will focus on hunger for this year in particular.

For many rabbis, this special Shabbat is an opportunity to speak about the Jewish imperative to end hunger and to highlight ways the congregation can participate in MAZON’s latest efforts to protect the federal nutrition safety program.

No matter how you choose to raise awareness, we hope these resources will help your synagogue leadership make Hunger Awareness Shabbat an educational and empowering experience for the whole community.

Please contact outreach@mazon.org to let us know you are planning a Hunger Awareness Shabbat or if you have photos from a recent event that you’d like to share.
