Rooted in our shared Jewish values of tzedek (pursuing justice) and b’tselem elohim (respecting the inherent dignity of every person), MAZON empowers individuals and communities to address the unjust systems that allow hunger to persist. We invite you — as an educator, clergy member, community leader, or individual — to join us in speaking truth to power and creating what we know is possible: systems built on wisdom, compassion, mutual support, and meaningful opportunity.
Hosting a “Walk To End Hunger” is a great way to raise awareness about hunger in your community, as well as raise much needed funds to support MAZON’s efforts to ensure that everyone can feed themselves and their families. Please contact Paul Sherman, Outreach Manager, for more information and help planning your event.
MAZON has created a suite of materials to help you promote and engage others in your Walk:
- Organizer’s Guide: This step-by-step guide will provide all the information you need to organize a successful event.
- Custom Website: To make things as easy as possible for you and your walkers, MAZON can create a website for your specific event. Individuals and teams can register for the walk and create fundraising pages, and you as the organizer can post event updates, monitor registration, and track fundraising progress. Click here to view a sample website.
- Promotional Materials: We can help you personalize ads to put in community bulletins or share on your website and social media, and flyers to print and distribute around town.
- Event Materials: Ask walkers to carry posters during your event to increase the impact and visibility. Download our poster or create your own using our slogan ideas. Print and distribute stickers for your participants to wear during the walk. To make an even bigger impact, print a large vinyl or canvas banner for leaders to carry during your event.

Hunger in America
Hunger is as prevalent as it is pernicious. Food pantries and distribution sites are vital emergency resources for people facing food insecurity, but charity alone cannot address the full scope of hunger in the U.S., and it was never designed to do so.
